Blender

Every version you have, with its add-ons underneath

Finds them
blender.org installs, Steam, scoop, and any portable build you point it at. The version is read from the build, not guessed from the folder name.
Folds them open
Every add-on under that version, at the version it is actually at — routinely different from the copy under the Blender next to it.
Starts them
One click. Nothing is copied, moved or registered, and uninstalling the launcher leaves every Blender where it was.
All add-ons

The add-on updates Blender never tells you about

An add-on installed from a .zip sits somewhere Blender never checks, and the store you bought it from has no way to reach you. The launcher scans every add-on under every Blender you have and lists the ones with a newer release, with a link back to the store.

Developers can publish a prerelease channel; an invite code puts one add-on on it and nothing else. The notification is a setting, not a nag.

Reports

File a bug without leaving for a forum

Pick the version, pick the add-on, write what happened. The report carries the context that otherwise takes three round-trips to establish, and one button strips usernames, paths, emails and tokens out of anything you paste in.

Replies come back as a thread you can answer. Reports about the same bug are merged, so the tenth person to hit it reads the first one's answer.

Downloads

New Blender, the day it is built

Stable releases and daily builds in one list, instead of a page you have to remember to check. Installing one is a download, not an installer: it unpacks into its own folder, needs no admin rights, and leaves the Blender you already use alone.

Each download is verified against blender.org before anything is unpacked, so a file that arrived damaged is fetched again rather than half-installed.

.blend files

The right Blender opens the file

Double-click a scene and it opens in the version that saved it, with no window in between. A folder can pin its own version, and your files keep Blender's icon.

Move and back up

Add-ons moved between versions, safely

Copy or link
Put an installed add-on under another version. Linking keeps one copy on disk, shared by all of them.
Backup first
Anything about to be overwritten is backed up first, and restoring is one button. Nothing here is unrecoverable.
Collapse duplicates
The same add-on in six versions is six copies of the same megabytes. Identical ones collapse into one shared folder.
Search everything
One searchable list of every copy across every version, for when the question is "where is this, and at what version?"
Schedule

What is supported, and what is coming

Support windows
How long each release you have installed keeps getting fixes. Useful once, for deciding which LTS to stand on.
What is next
What is in development and when it is due, from Blender's own milestones, with a download wherever one exists.
Integrations

It works with the add-ons you already run

One optional extra, if you own Clean Panels Pro. Everything else here works without it. It is a paid add-on of mine, and that link is a referral.

Its delayed loading picks which add-ons Blender starts with. Hover Launch and your sets are there to tick, so Blender opens with the ones this session needs — or double-click a scene and it brings the ones it was saved with. Opt-in, undoable, and launching Blender any other way is untouched. The longer version.

The companion add-on
The same update check in Blender’s sidebar, for when you are already in the viewport. Offered per version, never installed unasked.
For add-on developers
The same check is a drop-in module for your own add-on, with no dependency on this app.
Before you download

What it will not do.

It never installs an add-on update for you

It finds them and links you to the store. Fetching someone's paid product on your behalf is not a third-party app's job.

It does not enable, disable or uninstall add-ons

That stays in Blender's preferences, where it belongs.

Bug reports only reach registered developers

An add-on nobody has registered has no inbox to deliver to, so the launcher says so before you type the report rather than after.

Windows only for now

The .blend routing in particular is Windows-specific.

Some installs are invisible to it

Microsoft Store, Flatpak and Snap builds are not discovered, and Steam only in its default library. Anything else you add by naming the folder.

Builds are removed by deleting the folder

There is no uninstall button for a Blender build yet.

Privacy

No account and no login. Settings, filed tickets and contact details stay on your machine. The update check sends add-on ids and versions with a random install id, which is a de-duplication key and not an identity. Bug reports have a button that strips usernames, paths, emails and tokens before anything is sent.

Not a Blender Foundation product

This is an independent companion tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by the Blender Foundation. Every build it installs is fetched from blender.org and nowhere else. Blender itself is GPL-licensed and belongs to its authors; the launcher only finds, fetches and starts it — and it will point you at Blender's development fund rather than take credit for the thing you actually came for.

Longer write-up, including the manual way to do all of this without installing anything: how to manage multiple Blender versions.
